Gmail for GIs - We Can All Make a Difference

Now here's a way to really make a difference, without spending a time, and while never leaving your computer (what more could you ask?)

The good folks over at Gmail 4 Troops are collecting donated Gmail accounts, and getting them to military troops who are stationed overseas, away from their families and friends.  With Gmail's generous 1 gig of storage, it allows them to receive email, pictures, and home videos from home, without having to worry about storage.  And given that many military families qualify for food stamps even when everyone is all under the same roof, the price sure is right.

Conceived by Wil Wheaton and his friend Drew Olanoff, Gmail 4 Troops has garnered the support of Crewtags, Whizardries, and The Institute for Spam and Internet Public Policy.

So spread the word - people can donate or request an account at http://www.gmail4troops.com.
